Trainer/Instructor Openings

WILLCARE, a successful regional leader in the home health care industry, currently has job openings for Per Diem Training Instructors in our Buffalo NY branch locations.  In business for over 25 years, WILLCARE operates Certified/Medicare, Long Term Care, Licensed/Private Duty, as well as non-medical services and supplemental staffing agencies. We provide qualified skilled and non-skilled services focusing on preventative, rehabilitative and therapeutic care to our clients in all applicable settings. We have branch offices in Western NY, Hudson Valley NY, Connecticut, and Ohio.

TRAINING INSTRUCTOR JOB SUMMARY

Conducts training courses for Personal Care Aide and Home Health Aides according to Agency policy and procedure, and federal, state, and local regulations. Also conducts in-services, orientations, competency evaluations and assists with medical compliance.

 

TRAINING INSTRUCTOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates and facilitates the training of new staff
  • Teaches theory and skills according to regulatory guidelines
  • Provides ongoing in-service education
  • Conducts competency evaluations for all field personnel
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork, per course, in-service, and/or competency evaluations.
  • Perform nursing procedures as required for medical compliance
  • Serve as a resource for both the education and enrichment of trainees and employees.
  • Follow, as assigned, the teaching schedule
  • Participate with other instructors in the evaluation of students in training programs
  • Arrange for replenishment of classroom paperwork and supplies.
  • Monitors records to ensure attendance
  • Assists with on-site training and coaching of direct care staff at all homes and day services
  • Monitors orientation program progress and evaluates training programs for effectiveness
  • Maintains on-site library of training materials
  • Communicates regularly with Branch Administrator/DON
  • Keeps informed of all federal, state, and local regulations regarding staff training and communicates with Branch Administrator/DON regarding necessary revisions.

 

EDUCATIONAL & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, College or University
  • Current license/registration by state of hire as a Registered Nurse 
  • Two (2) years experience as a Professional Registered Nurse
  • One (1) year experience in Home Health Care
  • Current BLS certification*

*Requirement for Pediatric and IV cases only.
